Swedish cartonboard manufacturer Korsnas and paper maker Billerud have announced that they are to merge their operations to create a multi-billion pound powerhouse.The deal involves investment group Kinnevik selling its Korsnas packaging operations to slightly bigger rival Billerud for around £245m (SEK2.7bn) to form a combined group called BillerudKorsnas with annual sales of around £l,8bn (SEK20bn).
