Metal pacKaging group Crown is to expand its production facilities in Vietnam. New lines in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minn will bring annual capacity to 4.7bn cans every year, up from 3.3bn cans at present. Glass giant O-l has opened a new €24m furnace at its Barcelona bottle plant in the presence of Catalan president Artur Mas i Gavarro. The furnace is, O-1 said, the first of its kind in Europe and will allow it to produce lighter-weight bottles.
