If ever proof was needed that the packaging sector is bursting with ideas, last month's easyFairs Packaging Innovations London supplied it. Taking place for the second year at the Business Design Centre, the show brought together packaging buyers and designers with materials and service providers. Around the show floor were a host of innovative new packaging formats and ideas aiming to make consumers buy and then love products, or cutting further packs' environmental impact. A small selection of highlights were National Flexible's launch of Flexowrap, the first flexible plastic sleeve forready meals; Enkev's CocoForm, a packaging material made from coconut fibre and rubber; and Granby Marketing Services' display of Compare the Market's Russian meerkat toy that it had packed and wasjust, well, fun.
