摘要

This study focused on the pressurized oxygen treatment of dissolving pulp prior to the production of viscose dope. The aim was to investigate the possibility of using less carbon disulphide when producing viscose from pressurized oxygen-treated alkali cellulose compared with conventional mercerized pulp. The filter clogging values of conventionally produced viscose dopes were measured and compared with corresponding values for viscose produced from oxygen-treated alkali cellulose. A significant enhancement of the viscose dope quality could be seen in the oxygen-treated samples. Molecular weight distribution and dynamic contact angle of the oxygen-treated samples were measured to investigate the efficiency of the penetration of carbon disulphide into the alkali cellulose.
