The challenges of speed-to-market, rapid-response, and last-minute product design and specification change, have created a logistics dilemma for folding carton and corrugated container companies. Should you continue to purchase dies and related tooling externally, or establish a partial- or full-service in-house diemaking function? With the need for shorter cycle times, flexible and evolving specifications and an essential drive for lower and lower cost, 24-hour turnaround of tooling from an external supplier may no longer be effective.
