Hans Mueller, president of Voith Sulzer Paper Technology, says, "Present QCS (quality control system) technology is reaching a 'results ceiling' for paper mills. This limits their ability to make large quality, efficiency and productivity gains in the future. Automation suppliers alone cannot breach that ceiling. A closer union of sensor, controls and machinery technologies is required."
