This first 2010 issue of Parallel Processing Letters contains six papers that spannthe breadth of our field.nA. Klappenecker, H. Lee, and J.L. Welch open the issue with a paper on wirelessnsensor networks, in which the sensors are located at the intersection points of anregular lattice. They show how a tiling of the lattice can be used to derive ancollision-free and time-slot optimal schedule for broadcasts.
