BC Ferries has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to five pre-qualified shipyards to build three intermediate dual-fuel ferries. After nine shipyards responded to a request for pre-qualification (RPQ), BC Ferries narrowed the list down to five shipyards and sent them RFPs to invite them to participate further in the procurement process for the three newbuilds. The shortlist consists of: Fiskerstrand BLRT (Norway), Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (Germany), Remontowa Shipbuilding (Poland), Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards (Canada) and Sefine Shipyard (Turkey).
