The contributions of Herbert C. Kelman are the subject of a newly published book in the Springer series devoted to pioneer-ing figures in a wide range of fields. Aptly titled Herbert C. Kelman: A Pioneer in the Social Psychology of Conflict Anal-ysis and Resolution, this volume details Kelman's many and varied contributions to social science and practice. The first third of the book consists of an engaging intellectual autobiog-raphy in which Kelman recounts his career, with emphasis on the ways in which his grounding in social psychology facilitated his later work on intergroup conflict. The remainder of the book reprints some of Kelman's most important writings on conflict analysis and resolution. Because these are scattered across edited books and a journal, it is helpful to bring them together in a single volume that also contains Kelman's personal account of how he developed his ideas. Given its scope, this collection of Kelman's work, assembled with the editorial collaboration of Ronald J. Fisher, will interest a wide range of psychologists and other social scientists.
