摘要

The Fog of Peace is a thought-provoking and stimulating book that combines the experience of two practitioners who work in the sphere of global conflict resolution processes. Gabrielle Rifkind's background is as a psychotherapist and group analyst. As Director of the Middle East program at Oxford Research Group, a nongovernmental organization, she has particular interests in conflicts pertaining to Iran and the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, having facilitated related Track II processes. Giandomenico Picco, a former UN Assistant Secretary General, worked with the UN between 1973 and 1992, leading a task force which secured the cease-fire agreement between Iran and Iraq (1988), obtaining agreements from Lebanon and Israel on release of illegally detained citizens, and was on the team that negotiated the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. In The Fog of Peace, the authors share lessons learned in these and other conflict processes.
