Through the cooperative efforts of the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency, State Police, and the Commonwealth's Crime Prevention Officers' Associations, this course has been developed for law enforcement personnel featuring new "state of the art" techniques and programs for provision of crime prevention services at the local level. The course provides attendees with an understanding of crime prevention and the various methods used to reduce criminal opportunity in a community. Participants will learn from experienced local and State Police practitioners the value and benefit of crime prevention programs for communities, methods for developing and implementing successful community crime reduction efforts, strategies for the protection of persons and property, techniques for educating the public, and resources available from the statewide crime prevention technical assistance network.
