摘要

Oil and gas have been discovered in commercial quantities at two fields in the western Maritimes Basin. These two fields, Stoney Creek and McCully, are both located in the southern Moncton Subbasin (Figure 5.1) and produce from fluvial and marginal lacustrine sands of the Horton Group, specifically the Albert Formation. Basic data from these fields, therefore, are significant to considerations of Horton Group potential in other portions of the Maritimes Basin, notably the Cumberland Subbasin. A review of such data, selected from information now in the public domain, is presented in this chapter.
