This first ICPA Congress was held in the attractive city of Dundee in Scotland. The opening afternoon of the congress was devoted to fluorescence guided surgery and clinical oncology; this was followed by a civic reception, hosted by the Deputy Provost of Dundee, in the lovely Caird Hall. The plenary and parallel sessions, during the next two and a half days, ranged over a variety of clinical and scientific topics including the differing clinical applications, technology, immune aspects, photonics, and anti-microbial treatment and prevention.
