Gordon Hooker, a welding apprentice for CRC-Evans Pipelines International, Inc. was awarded the Young Health and Safety Champion Award from the British Safety Council in recognition of his commitment to helping ensure the health and safety of his colleagues and others at work. In its third year, the award recognizes young employees of organizations operating across a broad range of industry sectors worldwide for their respective contributions to their organization's health and safety management standards. Organizations that have been awarded an International Safety Award the previous calendar year for their excellence and high standards of health and safety management can nominate young employees for the award. "Our independent judges felt Gordon went the extra mile over and above his normal job role and responsibilities to help care for and protect his colleagues," said Neal Stone, acting chief executive of the British Safety Council.
