From a grassroots organization that was the brainchild of four enterprising business professionals in 1964, the National Association of Pipe Coating Applicators (NAPCA) has grown exponentially and achieved lofty goals. When L.B. "Bert" Irish, F.L. Bickham, Jim Porter and Paul Machost first met at the Southern Gas Association convention to discuss interest in and the possible formulation of a group dedicated to in-plant line pipe coating, little could they have known that their idea would have such lasting effect. This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of NAPCA and recognize the accomplishments of those who made it possible for the association to flourish.
