The 2014 National Association of Pipe Coating Applicators was held April 23-25 at the Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Naples, FL. The 50th annual convention was marked with celebrations of previous NAPCA conventions and high attendance, with the most people present for any year since 2008. At the regular members' meeting, Tom Ball, of L.B. Foster Ball Winch, was elected president of NAPCA. Richard Clement, sales manager for the Bayou Companies, was elected vice president. Three new members will join the board of trustees: Gary Foerster, sales manager for coated products for L.B. Foster Company, who was elected secretary/treasurer; Dave Kersting, executive vice president of sales and operations for LaBarge Coating; and Thomas Anderson, executive vice president of Bredero Shaw. Jeff Fargerson of 3M Corrosion Protection Products will continue to serve as the NAPCA associate member chairman and Fernando Ulecia of Socotherm will stay on as international member chairman.
