One of an energy editor's pleasures is derived from the people he or she meets on the job. People like W.R. (Bill) Byrd P.E., the affable, unassuming president of RCP Inc., a Houston-based engineering consulting firm that he created in 1995. Bill and his staff spend much of their time helping client companies which own pipelines, though that was not their original intention. These days one often finds Bill at prominent pipeline-related conferences where he just as quick with a smile and handshake as he is in defining some of the latest developments and trends in the industry.
