Interstate gas transmission companies are hoping the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) gives electric peaking utilities new leeway to recapture high gas costs they are forced to pay when their Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) suddenly demand those peaking generators be brought into play on 24-hour notice on very cold or very hot days. The inquiry FERC announced in October follows on the heels of new cost capture freedom FERC gave electric generators in New England based on a request for pricing changes submitted by ISO New England Inc. (ISO-NE) and the New England Power Pool (NEPOOL).

THE FINANCIAL SITUATION OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN POLAND ACCORDING TO THE NEW RULES OF LIMITING DEBT – THE MACROECONOMIC PERSPECTIVE Abstract: The article presents some evidence for the introduction in 2014 of new rules limiting debt of local governments. Statistical analysis of the distribution of the financial results of each group of local governments indicates that the financial situation of some local governments is difficult.
