Socotherm Middle East, a subsidiary of Vicenza-Italy based Socotherm, is carrying out a major pipeline coating and installation project for Ras Laffan LNG Company (RasGas) in Qatar. Valued at more than $35 million, the contract is for the application of fusion bonded epoxy external anticorrosion coating (POWDERKOTE®), reinforced concrete weight coating (WRAPHEAVYKOTE®) and anode installations on 207 km of 38-inch diameter pipe that will transport gas from two new unmanned wellhead platforms, WH6 and WH8, in Qatar's North Field to onshore receiving facilities at the Ras Laffan terminal.
