Declaring that the old way of doing business is dead and buried, the head of Houston-based Reliant Energy said the future belongs to those who can successfully provide energy services throughout the country, and ultimately the world. "We are at a turning point in the history of the energy services business - a point at which unique opportunities present themselves along with the broadly recognized challenges that also come with change," R. Steve Letbetter, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Houston-based Reliant Energy, told a recent energy conference in Houston. "For companies that can see the future, approach change with energy and enthusiasm, and adapt, it is an exhilarating time - and a once-in-a-life-time opportunity."
