The Alberta Research Council (ARC) has just completed a new testing facility in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for the rapid transfer of new production technologies from bench-scale to the field. This facility addresses a large area of R&D problems where multiphase flow, mobility and versatility are important. Its unique features are its dual operation mode (field and laboratory) and easy deployment to field locations. Therefore, both closed-loop operations and field, open or semi-open loop have been considered as essential design elements.
