Automation of various work processes and the subsequent associated flow of information has been proven effective in practice at many locations as companies upgrade their systems. NGC is now poised to reap the benefits of the lessons learned from the rule based template approach. Engineers and field operators will have information readily available both for location planning purposes and engineering analysis through remote laptops and desktops. In addition, the GasNet analysis system will identify and depict graphically, nearly any aspect of gas company operations. GasNet will provide a fresh look at the enterprise from nearly every angle and perspective. What started merely as a Y2K compliance issue has now resulted in opening a new era in gas network information technology.
