The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality last nweek unanimously approved a final air permit for Tenaska’s nplanned $3.5 billion, 600-MW Trailblazer project near nSweetwater, Texas, but the coal-fired project’s opponents nalready are planning an appeal.nTrailblazer is an ultra-supercritical pulverized project that nwould use amine absorption or another technology to capture n85% to 90% of its carbon dioxide emissions to pipe to the nPermian Basin region for use in enhanced oil recovery. The nplant will be fitted with low nitrogen oxide burners with over-nfire air, a wet scrubber and selective catalytic reduction, among nother emission control devices.
