Transportation officials with two Southeastern utilities arenbracing for tough contract negotiations with CSX after executivesnwith the railroad told investors they plan to make no reductionsnrevenue skyrocketed from $6.6 million to $23.4 million, as salesnsoared 471%. Power revenue slid 5% to $47 million as salesndropped 6.8% top 374.3 GWh, because of the economic slowdown.nThe main reason for the lower profit was a 71.4% jump in operationnand maintenance costs to $12 million because of higherncompensation, employee benefit and insurance costs.
