The North American Electric Reliability Corp. is trying to apply standards inconsistently across its various regions, retail marketers and other groups told the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission last week, urging FERC to reject the effort, which the retailers called "ludicrous and illogical." The controversy over NERC's consistency in applying reliability standards across regions sprang from NERC's listing of three retail power marketers as load-serving entities on the compliance registry of NERC's ReliabilityFirst region.
