The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners last week elected New Jersey Board of Public Utilities member Frederick Butler as president, replacing Marsha Smith of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. The group also elected Commissioner David Coen of Vermont as first vice president, and Tony Clark of the North Dakota Public Service Commission as second vice president. "Utility issues are front-page news and how we respond, as state regulators, will be essential to the public well-being," Butler said in a NARUC announcement.
