The New York Power Authority is seeking 700 MWh of renewable energy certificates, as part of a gubernatorial order to bolster the market for green energy projects. The solicitation is one of two renewable energy requests released last week by NYPA. The second seeks information from the industry in preparation for a 6-MW solar request. NYPA seeks the RECs from a variety of sources including wind, solar thermal, photovoltaics, certain biomass, tidal, geothermal, methane waste and fuel cells, but not hydroelectric projects.
