摘要

Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers last week said the financial crisis could benefit the power industry by helping focus on the need for new infrastructure and furthering the "can-do" attitude now seen more in developing countries such as China, from where he returned recently. "The 'can-do' attitude there is remarkable, versus the US where the chattering classes seem more focused on talking, not doing," he said. "I actually think this financial meltdown will focus this country, we will get a more can-do attitude, like a developing country - we might actually become a developing country," he joked. "In this country we will find a way to transform the energy infrastructure. This whole experience of the last week, 10 days, and two months says we need to be passionately pragmatic and face up to reality. This will be a better environment to address environmental and infrastructure issues. That investment will create jobs and stimulate the economy."
