With a proposed tax on electric generators thrown into the mix last week, Illinois legislators say they are prepared to go into "overtime" to provide some sort of rate relief soon for nearly five million customers of Commonwealth Edison and Ameren.rnThe Legislature's spring session is due to end May 31, but powerful House Speaker Michael Madigan vowed to keep members of the House of Representatives in Springfield beyond that date to pass an aid package for customers reeling from rate hikes this year that have topped 200% in some cases, particularly in Ameren's Downstate service territory.
