The Polish government published a long-awaited draft Offshore WindAct January 15, promoting construction of 9.6 GW of capacity in theBaltic Sea by 2027.Under the Act, Poland’s first offshore wind projects would beeligible for subsidies in the form of Contracts for Difference (CfDs) for aperiod of 25 years, compared to 15 years for other renewabletechnologies in Poland. The country’s energy regulator, URE, is toaward CfDs with a strike price fixed by the government for the first 4.6GW on a first come, first served basis.
