The Netherlands is set to rely on electricity imports from 2025,power system operator Tennet said January 17 in an annualmonitoring report.Generation margins would fall as gas and coal plant capacity isclosed over the period and up to 2030, making coordination ofgeneration adequacy with neighboring countries more important post-2025, said Tennet’s chief operating officer Ben Voorhorst.“Like all our neighboring countries, the Netherlands has its ownpolicy and there is very little harmonisation of the various policies,”Voorhorst said, urging greater coordinated policy.
