Implicit intraday power auctions on the Italian-Swiss border beganApril 17, replacing existing explicit intraday auctions on the link.Four partners – EPEX Spot, GME, Swissgrid and Terna – launchedthe process following successful testing and the necessary approvalsfrom national regulators, ElCom and ARERA.Implicit auctions replace the explicit auctions performed by theJoint Allocation Office. This mechanism is to be managed in parallelwith that already in operation on the Slovenian-Italian border, thepartners said ahead of the launch.
