German utility EnBW and renewables developer Energiekontor have signed a 15-year power purchase agreement for a subsidy-free 52 MW solar park, EnBW said Feb. 10. The project at Dettmannsdorf in northeast Germany is to produce 55.5 GWh/year, the utility said. Construction is scheduled to begin this autumn with commissioning planed for Q2 2022. EnBW head of trading Peter Heydecker said the project demonstrated solar could now be built in Germany without subsidies. The PPA is the second between EnBW and Energiekontor following a 2019 deal which was the first of its kind in Germany.
