Capture prices for German wind and solar generation soared in June as spot prices tripled on year on the back of a record rally for gas and CO_2 values, system data showed July 9. Average wind output (on- and offshore) had a market value of Eur66.06/MWh ($78.32/MWh) in June versus Eur22/MWh in June 2020 when power prices were recovering from record lows in the wake of the coronavirus crisis. Wind generation in June of 4.5 TWh was down 32% on year. Low wind itself was a bullish factor pushing spot power prices to a 13-year-high.
