Greek industrial conglomerate Mytilineos has signed a final electricity supply accord with Greece’s PPC for its Aluminium of Greece subsidiary before proceeding with self-supply from 2023, the company said July 21. PPC has been supplying energy to Aluminium of Greece for 60 years, Mytilineos said in a statement. The new contract will last from July 1, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2023. By 2030, Mytilineos is to cover Aluminium of Greece’s power needs from renewable energy sources, it said. The site in Agios Nikolaos, Viotia, uses around 2.8 TWh/year.
