Independent energy supplier Opus Energy has been fined £125,000 by Ofgem for misreporting under the Renewables Obligation quota system, the regulator said September 18. Opus failed to provide accurate information on the amount of electricity it supplied during 2009/10. "The misreporting was caused by shortcomings in Opus Energy's methodology for calculating its electricity supply data and in the company's internal procedures," Ofgem said.
