The Solarig Group has bought a portfolio of operating photovoltaic projects totalling 15 MW in the Piedmont, Marche, Molise, Lazio, Apulia and Calabria regions, it said July 14. The investment exceeds €55 million. Plant management has been entrusted to Altrium Energy. Solarig now has more than 60 MW of installed capacity in Italy. Sardinia Region has approved the 10.75 MWp Rumesanto 4 solar power plant in Badde Tribide. The E. ON Climate Solar & Renewables Italia Solar project is to cost €53.2 million and is being financed by private capital. Convert Italia on July 7 announced an agreement with California-based Solaria Corp to purchase the first batch of 24 MW of PV panels for plants to be built in Southern Europe from September 2011 to end-2012. The deal provides an option to purchase a further 50 MW of panels during 2013.
