German prompt and forward power markets diverged during the first half of October with year-ahead prices falling to their lowest level in over six months, while day-ahead prices rose to their highest level so far this year. Cal-11 base dropped below €49/MWh for the first time since April 15, falling as low as €48.30/MWh by October 15. The contract had been trading in a very narrow range between €49-51 for most of the past three months.
