Statnett has received authorization for two of its key projects: the construction of Skagerrak 4 - a fourth cable link with Denmark (PiE 565-566/25), and of Sima-Samnanger, a new 420-kV line which Statnett says is needed to secure supplies to the counties of Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane, between the Hardanger fjord and the Sognefjord, including Bergen. Both concessions were announced on July 2.
