EGL has bought a 46% stake in the 33-MW La Penuca wind farm in Burgos, northern Spain, the Swiss company said June 29. La Penuca's 22 Neg Micon wind turbines have been operating since 2006. the Burgos site enjoys "excellent wind conditions of up to 3,000 hours yearly," EGL said. The developer and operator of the wind park, Energias Renovables del Bierzo (ERBI)rnretains 51% of La Penuca. EGL manages a portfolio of 6,500-MW of renewable energy capacity in Spain via its subsidiary EGL Energia Iberia.
