Iberdrola has appointed Amparo Moraleda as the group's new No. 3 in the newly created post of international area director. Moraleda was until now the president of IBM affiliates in Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey and Israel. Another new appointment is that of Pedro Azagra to a second new position of development director. Iberdrola said the new posts and appointments, approved by Iberdrola's board of directors in its Bilbao head offices, reflect the growth in Iberdrola's new business activities - mainly renewable energies - and international operations, in particular in the UK and US, with the acquisitions of ScottishPower in 2007 and Energy East, expected before the summer.
