Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica announced January 7 it has signed a contract to supply 22 MW of wind turbines to Italy's Parco Eolico Licodia Eubea S.R.L., affiliate of Alerion Industries S.P.A., for the Licodia Eubea wind farm in the Sicilian region of Catania. Gamesa will begin to install its 26 G5X-850 kW turbines in the first quarter of 2009. This is Gamesa's first contract with Alerion, although it is the second turbine supplier to Italy, where it has installed more than 760 MW with a 21.5% market share.
