Regulated gas and electricity bills in Italy will decrease by 1% and 5.1% respectively, starting January 1, with total average savings for energy consumers of €36 a year, energy regulator AEEG said December 22. On average, typical household energy spending should fall about €25/yr for electricity and €ll/yr for gas, AEEG said.rnThe regulator sets tariffs for gas and electricity for households and small businesses that have not yet switched to a new supplier.rnAEEG president Alessandro Ortis said that the regulator's next quarterly tariff update, scheduled at the end of March, may produce more price cuts, particularly for gas.
