While California utilities continued cuts in electric service to thousands of customers that began Wednesday, wildfires started early Thursday in Sonoma County, north of San Francisco, and San Bernardino County, northeast of Los Angeles, and major evacuations were ordered. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention, or CAL FIRE, reported the Kincade Fire, a blaze over 10,000 acres and growing, started at 4:26 a.m. on October 24 with an as-yet-undetermined cause northeast of Geyserville, California, in Sonoma County in Pacific Gas and Electric Co.'s service territory.
