Lighter loads induced by milder weather worked with weaker natural gas prices to push April’s bilateral power indexes in most of the US Southeast substantially lower on the year, and forwards followed suit. Florida had the smallest year-to-year decrease, down 23.5% to 22.44/MWh, according to S&P Global Platts Day-ahead Bilateral Index, but this was up almost 5% from March’s average of $21.38/MWh.
