Public Service Enterprise Group's Hope Creek and Salem-1 and -2nuclear power units in New Jersey will be retired in 2019 and 2020,respectively, unless the state's Board of Public Utilities awards theunits zero emission credits to maintain their economic viability, thecompany said."Deactivation notices" to that effect have been filed with PJMInterconnection to notify the regional grid operator that those unitsmight not participate in the capacity auction for 2022-2023,scheduled to take place in August, PSEG said in a filing Tuesday withthe US Securities and Exchange Commission. Exelon Generationsubmitted a similar filing Tuesday to SEC for the share of the Salemunits that it owns.
