Next-day prices in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas found themselves drifting in different directions Friday, as forecasts of warmer temperatures pushed power demand predictions higher for Houston Hub and lower for North Hub. ERCOT Houston Hub on-peak futures were framed in the low $30s/ MWh for Monday delivery on the Intercontinental Exchange, up about 75 cents from Thursday, while their North Hub counterparts fell around $1.25 to the mid-$20s/MWh. Consequently, the locational spread between Houston and North Hub next-day on-peak futures was valued at $6/MWh Friday, compared with $3.50 on Thursday.
