Ukraine’s exports of ferrous metal scrap nincreased by 16.3% month-on-month to n59,930 mt in the month of December n2010 from 51,540 mt in November, n2010. However, December’s total exports nalo represented a slight decline from the ncountry’s 60,070 mt of ferrous scrap nexported in December 2009, the state nstatistics committee reported Tuesday. In n2010, Ukrainian exports of the commodity ndropped by 24.8% year-on-year to 664,450 nmt, down from 883,280 mt in 2009, the ncommittee said. The data also showed nUkraine’s exports of the scrap material to nspecific countries also shifted last year, nwith Ukraine exporting 501,320 mt of the ncommodity to Turkey, down from 586,500 nmt in 2009, while exports to Moldova nincreased to 106,730 mt from 73,390 mt.
