Heraeus’ Hong Kong refinery has been nadded to the London Bullion Market nAssociation’s good delivery list for silver nwith effect from Wednesday, the LBMA nsaid. Heraeus has satisfied the LBMA as nto its production capability and financial nstanding. It has also passed LBMA test-ning procedures, under which its silver nbars were examined and assayed by inde-npendent referees, and its own assaying ncapabilities were tested, the LBMA said. nThe London good delivery list of accept-nable refiners of gold and silver, main-ntained by the LBMA, lists those refineries nwhose gold and silver bars have been nfound, when originally tested, to meet nthe required standard for acceptability in nthe London bullion market. The list now nincludes 60 gold and 69 silver refiners. nHeraeus’ refinery serves primarily the Asia nPacific region; its main sources of feed-nstock are silver ore, dore from silver mines nand the smelting industry, alloys and scrap njewelry. The company’s refined silver out-nput is mostly in the form of large silver nbars for investment; silver bars, grains and nanodes for industrial use and sterling sil-nver for the jewelry industry.
