Fatigue contributes significantly to accidents at work, at home, on the road and in other settings. It damages health and significantly reduces quality of life for those affected both directly and indirectly. Extreme fatigue at work can result from the interplay of many factors, including shift patterns, physical workload, monotonous and unstimulating work, poor sleep hygiene, lifestyle factors, medical conditions and/ or associated therapies and personal life challenges.
